This week's Ledger is a short video. Sound on is better, but it works with sound off.

Every business with a stockroom knows this moment. The sheet says 12. The shelf has 3. The clipboard, the spreadsheet and the text thread all give a different answer, and nobody knows which one is right.

The usual fix is a big inventory system with hundreds of features, built for everyone. Most small businesses need about five of them.

In the video, the count lives on the phones your team already carries. Someone takes an item, scans the shelf label, and the count updates. The office sees the same number. When something runs low, you hear about it before the shelf is empty. Every change shows who and when.
